Join New Year Celebrants In Downtown Monroe For The Annual Cheese Drop


Main Street Monroe, Inc. will again host a Cheese Drop on Monroe’s downtown square on New Year’s Eve, which this year is on a Tuesday. Last year’s event, which was organized toward the end of the year on a very limited budget, was received with great fanfare. The entire south side of the square in 2023 was packed with over 1,000 people as a replica block of Limburger dropped at 5 p.m. in Monroe,  midnight in Switzerland. On New Year’s Eve, for the event, a beer garden will open at 3 p.m., with festivities at 4 p.m., and the cheese dropping at 5 p.m. The tent, which will act as a warming shelter — heaters will be provided by Suisse Haus — will also be the location for different community group stations.

November 30 th this year is that much needed counter narrative to "Black Friday" that big box media blitz, and humans behaving badly caught on overhead surveillance cameras we endure during the holiday season. From Grants Pass Oregon to Vermillion Ohio towns recognize small businesses are the community glue, the essential economic heft of the town's entire existence. 


In Stoughton, businesses along Main Street from the Yahara River to the Stoughton Opera House will open the doors and welcome holiday visitors and shoppers.

Sausage Fest, which features a lineup of restaurants from

Come out for the second annual Spring Into Summer music festival, a full day of live music sponsored by the Arts Council of Edgerton. Enjoy local and regional talent while relaxing outdoors with friends. The event is free but this is Wisconsin so grab a beer from the "No Crap On Tap" cart to support this great community radio station. Stride to Footville For the Footville Community Rummage Sale


The brainchild of local resident, Georgia Honeysett. the Footville Rummage Sale is much more than finding a great lamp or exercise bicycle. Other businesses and organizations in Footville are participating making the weekend sale much more of a carnival or outdoor market. Tour Some of Southern Wisconsin's Best Pottery Studios Returns to Milton


The Clay Collective's Spring Pottery Tour brings the public up close and personal to one of the world's oldest art forms. Art sometimes gets dusty, and unapproachable in a gallery space, and that should not be. Rick Lamore one of the collective's founding members believes their event allows the public to truly understand the process behind the craft of the finished product. "I feel we’ve made great inroads on the local population that people appreciate something they’ve never seen before. I do a demonstration and they see the process that produces that vase on the shelf,' says Lamore owner of Broadwing Clay Studio. CONCERTS IN THE PARK RETURN TO CENTRAL PARK IN EDGERTON


After a year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Arts Council of Edgerton is happy to bring back a musical summer filled with Concerts in the Park. Bring a lawn chair, relax, and listen to an evening of free music! All shows take place at the Menhall Pavilion in Central Park starting at 6:30 pm. Alternate rain dates are noted or will be scheduled at a later date. The Edgerton Band Boosters will provide concessions for sale. Concert attendees will be expected to follow current COVID-19 health and safety guidance such as social distancing and only attending if healthy.


The Arts Council relies on the generosity of many sponsors to make these wonderful events happen at no cost to the community. This year, a special thanks is due to the Wartmann Endowment for the Performing Arts for an especially generous contribution that allowed additional shows to be added.

Chilimania's mission is to promote the Edgerton business community, 
social responsibility, and to raise funds to support the education of our youth. 
Chilimania is held annually on the first Saturday after Labor Day in Edgerton, WI.
It is home to the Wisconsin State Championship CASI-Sanctioned Chili Cook-Off, 
a traditional chili cooking contest, and a salsa contest. The event also features a 5K fun run and walk, live music all-day long, a Bloody Mary contest, and more!
