The Spring Fling Market Craft and Vendor Fair

Think Spring. Ignore what is going on weather wise outside, and focus on warm thoughts and remember the calendar date April 2nd. Think the Spring Fling Market in Milton this Saturday. It's indoors, it's free and a great way to buy local and have fun on a cloudy day in April. Keeping to AngelMoon Market Events coordinator, Deanna Sorenson's philosophy of "anything and everything" the essence of her popular, Rock County Mega Sale, the Spring Fling Market will have several featured local artists & crafters, including food vendors, and product reps selling everything from Color Street to Mary Kay. There is truly something for everyone. For starters, children's book author, Pat Hall will not only be selling her books, but also her hand painted Ukrainian folk patterned eggs using a traditional Ukrainian wax resist style.

Also, worth a visit is Shari McKinney from Elkhorn who sells  Origami Owl jewelry. She will have an offering of magnetic lockets, charms, and watches to choose from. One can customize their locket by selecting charms to put inside. "They are a great gift," says Sorenson..

There is also Beloit artist, Brenda Thompson who will be selling her stenciled home decor on wood & canvas for the wall, table, or porch.  Thompson also makes unique creations using glass and resin.

Another Beloit-based crafter is Janelle Venable. Venable with the business name,  Nellie's Lilac Mercantile, describes her products as handmade vintage/farmhouse home decor (pictured below.) She uses chalk paint and stencils for many of her creations.

Chapel Specialties on the Square owner, Beth Drew, will open her own shop, Twice the Charm, during the Spring Fling Market. The shop features resale clothing, mugs and more.

And if you hungry just head into the chapel room to the kitchen counter, the Spring Fling Market features sandwiches, chips, and beverages from Snacks and Stuff Food Truck owner Tennisha Loggins. Returning this year from the Wisconsin Dells is Ron Hiner owner of Dell Prairie Kettle Corn. These venerable vendors will be selling their food alongside a young entrepreneur from Girl Scout Troup 7002 out of Janesville who will be selling the uber- addictive Girl Scout cookies raising money for a trip.

THE DETAILS:

The Spring Fling Market Craft and Vendor Fair takes from 9am to 3pm  at the Chapel Specialties on the Square building located at 819 E. High Street.

Deanna Sorenson notes that there is not access to Chapel Specialties from E. High St, and the entrance is from the back of the building (just north of Shumway Appliance).  You can GPS or MapQuest the address 880 Mc Ewan Lane in Milton to find the back parking lot and entrance to the building.
