Maple Syrup Fest

Celebrate spring with Maple Syrup Fest—a family-oriented festival at the Aldo Leopold Nature Center! Come one, come all to the most unforgettable celebration of the season! This event offers a blend of indoor and outdoor activities found nowhere else in Dane County. Stations throughout the grounds will lead visitors through the history and science of maple syruping in Wisconsin. Participants will learn how to tap trees and make REAL maple syrup as well as enjoy a variety of themed activities.  FREE parking is available  at Ahuska Park (400 E. Did You Know?


Did you know that Wisconsin Did you know that the 1st Capitol building constructed on Madison's isthmus is actually the 2nd of four constructed in the Badger State? The first structure was built in Belmont the official capitol of the Wisconsin territories which included the Dakotas, Minnesota and Iowa. In 1838, the territorial capitol was moved to Madison. Today, the site is graced by large domed granite structure built in 1917 inspired by the U.S. capitol. The Capitol building is the third on the site and 4th in Wisconsin. Does this all make sense?
