Scandihoovian Fest celebrates the best of winter with a red pointy hat nod to the town's Scandinavian culture. Historically, in Norwegian and Danish folklore, the hats are worn by the nisse, a creature that dwells in the forests.
The self-proclaimed "Troll Capitol of the World" Mt. Horeb hosts an fun assortment of outdoor activities Friday through Sunday. There is a Fat Bike Race, Ice Sculpture competion, Barnespill (traditional Scandinavian games for kids), Frozen Turkey Bowling, and competitive broom ball. Indoors festival goers will find Norwegian Baking Demonstrations, a Community Spelling Bee, Norwegian fiddlers, and Mt. Horeb's locally owned businesses along Main Street to fill the day.
