
Memorial Day Observations Around Southern Wisconsin
Parades, flag raisings, flyovers and solemn services across Southern Wisconsin mark this year's tribute our heroes. After the outdoor grilling, consider taking time to honor our veterans this Monday.

Beloit Memorial Day Parade
The United Veteran’s Memorial Day Parade will go through downtown Beloit and South Beloit The parade starts at 9 a.m. in South Beloit on Blackhawk Boulevard and will continue north into Beloit.
The annual Memorial Day parade starts 9:00 a.m. in
South Beloit May 30. United Veteran's Memorial Day Parade
Committee Co-Chair Michael Bendickson thinks they could have a record turnout with, maybe, 15 to 18 thousand people. Bendickson says the parade is for all citizens in the Rock County area. The parade line-up starts at 8:00 in the morning.

DeForest Memorial Day Ceremony
The DeForest Veterans Memorial Foundation will hold a Memorial Day ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park in DeForest. The program will begin at 11:45 a.m. and feature
patriotic speeches and a color guard tribute.
The organization is choosing to honor the Air Force this year as it celebrates its 76th anniversary. The DeForest American Legion Post 348 will take part in a color guard tribute.

Fitchburg Memorial Day Observance
The City of Fitchburg is holding a Memorial Day Observance at the Bob Schley Memorial at Gorman Wayside Park on 2377 S Fish Hatchery Road. The event will begin at 12:30 p.m. Lisa Heitman, an Air Force Veteran and current City of Fitchburg
Police Lieutenant, will be the keynote speaker.
The Brooklyn/Oregon American Legion Post 160, the Oregon/Brooklyn VFW Post 10272 and the Lt. Marion C. Cranefield VFW Post 1318 will provide the military
ceremony.

Monona Memorial Day Parade
The annual Memorial Day Parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Monona Drive. This is Wisconsin’s largest and longest-running Memorial Day in over 60 years and celebrates and honors military personnel who have served, are serving, and those
who gave their lives for our country. The 1.5 mile route starts just past Monona Grove High School and travels south on Monona Drive then left onto Pflaum Road,
disbanding at Sennett Middle School.
Monona Drive will close Monday May 27th from 9am-12pm for the annual Memorial Day Parade. The closure of Monona Drive spans from Winnequah
Rd to Nichols Rd.
Other Memorial Day ceremonies will be held at:
Monona Grove High School, 9:30 am
Blooming Grove Cemetery, 11:15 am
Roselawn Memorial Cemetery, 12 noon
Highland Memory Gardens, 1 pm
Madison Veteran’s Park 2 pm
VFW Post #7591, 3 pm
The 2024 Memorial Day observation is this Monday, May 27th.
