FISH LAKE
Overshadowed by Dane County's more famous chain-o-lakes (Mendota, Monona, Waubesa, Wingra and Kegonsa) and the popular Indian Lake County Park, Fish Lake offers some of the same amenities on a much smaller and quieter scale.
Located on the Northwest corner of Dane County near the town of Roxbury, Fish Lake is a 199 acre body of fresh water surprisingly deep with a maximum depth of 62 feet.
The Wisconsin DNR has stocked Fish Lake with Panfish, Largemouth Bass and Northern Pike. According to the DNR website reports the following:
- Largemouth Bass (Abundant)
- Panfish (Common)
- Northern Pike (Common)
The primary access to the lake is via Fish Lake County Park. The 3 acre park is situated along Fish Lake's western edge and include a shelter house, picnic area and a carry-in canoe launch.
