
The 25th Annual Barrymore Flea Market
After a two year, COVID induced hiatus the Barrymore Flea Market returns to Madison's venerable eastside institution, the Barrymore theater. This year's flea market will be an all outdoors event a first in its' 25 year history. The market began as a wish by a longtime Barrymore worker and flea market vendor to bring the energy and spectacle of a market to the theater's eastside neighborhood, and a way for him and his friends to sell their wares. The Barrymore Flea Market is now under the helm of the Schenk's Corners Art Society which also responsible for the area's summer festival.
The flea market not only features the traditional antique and curio vendors but hand dyed yarns
as well as area artists have booths set up, from pottery, jewelry, paintings, and photography, to handmade books.. Make the Barrymore Flea Market a destination if you need something weird, odd, curious, beautiful to fill in the dark or lonely corners or your home or airstream or tent. "I bought a rocking chair, records, and furniture and all sorts of things in the past," says Zach, House Manager of the Barrymore Theater.
