Deadline to Request Mortgage Forbearance Extended

If you’ve been affected financially by the COVID-19 pandemic and you own a single-family home with a federally backed or FHA-insured mortgage, you can request mortgage forbearance, a pause in making mortgage payments. COVID-19 Mortgage Relief You now have until the end of the COVID-19 National Emergency to request forbearance for loans backed by HUD/FHA, USDA, and VA. For loans backed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, there is currently no deadline.
Homeowner's still have other mortgage relief options in 2022, according to Maggie Overholt of The Mortgage Reports these include: Refinancing to a lower interest rate and payment; you can
use a Streamline Refinance or simply asking for loan forbearance to pause your mortgage payments
Overholt also recommends talking to your mortgage service about a loan modification. "Many lenders are offering forbearance for as long as Covid is considered a National Emergency. And nearly 4 million homeowners are still eligible to refinance despite rising rates," says Overholt.
$322 Million Dollars From Federally Funded Program To Help Wisconsinites With Rent and Utilities

Governor Evers announced the new funding will go to state residents who have seen their income drop
due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 300 million dollars in federal relief will be distributed through
Community Action agencies and Energy Services, Inc. brokered through a state partnership.
Wisconsin residents. with a household income at or below 80 percent of the county
median income qualify.
The Wisconsin Community Action agencies and Energy Services, Inc. will distribute the money.
to qualified residents of Brown, Dane, Milwaukee, and Waukesha Counties, Madison
and Milwaukee.
Approved applicants can receive up to 12 months of financial support for rent and utilities through the
assistance program.
