Jefferson, WI - Now entering it's 171st year, the county fair is the second oldest in Southern Wisconsin. Before Farm to Table the county fair was the surest way to link your food to local farmers. Head to the grand stand for biggest events of the day.
Wednesday was the County Tractor Pull hosted by the Badger State Tractor Pullers (BSTP.) followed on Thursday by the truck class. There is also a mini-tractor pull event just for the kiddies.
Find Animal shows everyday, competitions for hogs, horses, poultry and rabbits helmed by Future Farmers of America (FFA) and the 4-H among other organizations inspiring our children to join Wisconsin's agricultural legacy There are agricultural exhibits from dairy to goats, sheep, sheep sheering demonstrations, swine and many more.
Music fills the Jefferson County Fair Grounds through out the week. Cover bands from the area and nationally known bring familiar hits from the 60s, 70s and 80s back to life in the Summer nights. Be sure to check out the US Project, fronted by GRAMMY member, WAMI winner and band member of Bad Boy, Scott E. Berendt for a blend of world music glued together with Jazz, rock, reggae, and Latin beats. US Project kicks off the live outdoor concerts at the fair, this Friday at 6:30PM in the Coors Tent.
The Jefferson County Fair comes to a crashing halt Sunday with The International Demo Derby. The demolition derby will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday July 13 at the track by the Grandstand. If that's too tame there are the Pig and Duck races also taking place at 1 pm. Sunday is also La Movida Day, arriba!
