Dont Miss the Rock County Mega Sale This Saturday

The Rock County Mega Sale

The Rock County Mega Sale is more than simply a flea market. The one day event this Saturday at the Rock County Fairgrounds' Craig Center is also crafters/DIYers/artists and direct product sales, all a passion for the event's coordinator, Deanna Sorenson. Deanna has been at the helm of the Mega Sale since 2018 when she took it over from Paige Fisher. Fisher had started the Rock County Mega Sale with a few vendors in a garage but moved it to a larger space as the event got bigger and bigger. When the Mega Sale finally got too big to handle Fisher realized she needed someone to take over.  Page then reached out to all her event's vendors via text searching anyone interested in taking over, At the time, Deanna Sorenson  had a consignment store, Angel Moon LLC, on Milwaukee Street in Janesville and was looking move on from the hardships she had endured at that location.  "I had bricks thrown at me, a leaking roof and a road ripped out,' recalls Sorenson. There just wasn't the right place for her small business at thatThe  time she also had concentrated on stamping and scrap book products, and doing scrap booking get-togethers on the side. The timing was right to try out coordinating an event with like minded vendors so Deanna reached out to Paige. Sorenson who had formed Angel Moon Marketing in 2015 had volunteered and organized similar events in the past so she took the one day mega sale over,

Through social media Sorenson grew Rock County Mega Sale's popularity and the event expanded to 50 vendors. Fisher owner of the Cake Connection is still involved with Rock County Mega Sale as she handles all the hot sandwiches and bakery items out of the Craig Center's kitchen.

"My little tag line there's something for everyone at the mega sale, kids adults, guys and gals," says Deanna about flea market-esque event she has cultivated. One third of the vendors with booths are crafters/makers/artists. While flea market type items like antiques, collectibles and rummage take up another third, the final third devoted to direct sale companies according to Sorenson.  The weather forecast for this Saturday (4/9) calls for highs in the low 50s the perfect Spring day for getting indoors and attending the Rock County Mega Sale.
