A Whitewater Lion's Club Tradition Returns to the Ice on Whitewater Lake
Attention all ice fishing anglers the Fish-A-Ree is back. 2026 marks the 50th year that the Whitewater Lion's club has hosted this popular February fishing derby in their backyard. Mark your calendar for February 8th. Back again is the Drive Thru Pancake Breakfast with a Car-Hop Style service, manned by a group of school age volunteers, to serve the steaming hot pancakes, eggs, sausages and locally roasted coffee (Nordskov Coffee) right to your car.
Born out of the COVID-19 pandemic the Whitewater Lion's are also hosting their 6th Annual On-Line Auction that replaced the Bucket Raffles that their supporters have enjoyed for so many years. Bidders will need to register by clicking on the REGISTER link at the top of the Whitewater Lion's auction page. Items range from $25 shopping spree at Piggly Wiggly, to a gift certificate from Yellow Door Nursery, a Bark Box" from Pet Supplies Plus, health and beauty, care care and dozens of other great items. The Lion's accept credit/debit or Paypal for items won at the auction. Bidding commences the day of the Fish-A-Ree at 6 AM and continues until February 16th at 6 PM. Good luck to all, proceeds go to charity. Another innovation from 2021 was the live streaming of the action in the kitchen to the action on the ice on Facebook.
